Hi Kelli-I would play it safe and soak his work clothes overnight in the Tide, which is a good grease cutting detergent, to make sure all the poison oil is dissolved from the fibers, then add 3/4 to 1 cup bleach when you re-start the machine for the final wash. If your husband didn't wash up or shower exposed body parts with an oil-cutting soap, he has a good chance to come down with a rash. Also you can spread it to other people if you have the oil on your skin (but not after the bumps appear) so only you would know what your husband did after he removed his clothes. Hopefully he didn't pick up the baby right before washing. If you have Fels-Naptha Laundry bar soap he can use that for his skin. It works great for removing plant oils. Or have him wipe down all areas he thinks was exposed to the oak with rubbing alcohol on cotton balls. I hope none of you gets the rash! [email protected]
