Dear Mom, I doubt what caused the immediate blisters was Poison Ivy --it sounds to me like it may have been Stinging Nettle. It sounds like your description & causes immediate itch & blister like bumps. Try an internet search for pictures of Stinging Nettle and see if this looks like the plant in your tomatoes. Google search engine has lots of pics. The rash from stingling nettle does not last as long as poison ivy which usually takes a 3 wk. course from start to finish. If she is uncomfortable try very cold cloths on her rash to ease the swelling & itching. I found a good product for the itching--BLUE ICE ANALGESIC GEL. It is clear, contains menthol & camphor, and takes the edge of the itches for a long time! However it cannot be used for kids under 2. My email is [email protected] if you have any other questions I would like to help if I can.
