My heart goes out to you too! I am on Day 3 or 4 of my second PI outbreak of the summer. The first was far worse (my doctor said that the usual treatment for such a severe reaction was a steroid treatment, but that she wouldn't do that while I nursing). In my first outbreak, it took 2-3 weeks for the initial severe areas to recover (although the "ghost" of the reaction lasted another week) and I was getting new blisters for nearly three weeks (although the later ones disappeared MUCH more quickly than the initial outbreak -- sometimes even before the worst of the early stuff was gone!)

This time around, I know what it is and am trying to last it out. I'm going to try the hot water treatment and a few other drying remedies to see if I can't speed the healing process. And I've started up with the Benadryl again.

Yours was the first post I've found anywhere that mentions nursing and PI. If you've found other information out there, could you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
