I got mine about a week ago. I have started to use a hair dryer on my ankle. I put the hair dryer on high about 2" from the outbreaks and leave it on there until the heat is too hot and I think I am going to burn myself. The relief comes in less than 20 seconds. What this has done is relieve the itch for long periods of time. The hair dryer gives me 12-24 hours of itch free relief. I even stopped using the hydrocortisone cream, the caladryl and the oral benedryl because the local heat has been so effective. However, my ankle still looks horrible.
