I'm also looking for the best (and easiest) way to clean stuff that might have come in contact. My daughter went hiking with her dad--in sandals--through poison oak-infested undergrowth. She's very sensitive after being infected twice before on camping trips with him. (If we weren't already divorced, I'd divorce him again at this point.) She brought the sandals home and put them down on the carpet outside the laundry room. All the rest of her clothes, including the jeans she was wearing on the hike, were stuffed together in a duffle bag. The duffle bag contained a stuffed animal, clothes, and a few other random items. I can throw most of it in the laundry, I guess, but is the stuffed animal toast? Is there a way to clean the duffle bag without throwing it in the washing machine? Will the washing machine work on this if it's a front loader? (Front loaders use less water and less soap.) What about the carpet where she put the sandals?
