i do not care what the doctor says. this stuff SPREADS. Assuming that the sap is the only way to get PI, then TRACE AMOUNTS of it must remain adhered to the skin or within the blistering fluid and can be passed on to yourself and others. i know this is true because i have had PI for 10 days now in the same localized spots. My boyfriend came over last night and one of my oozing blisters weeped onto the bare skin of his left hip. i told him it was ok because i read on the internet that it can not spread through the fluid---and now he has full fledged poison ivy right on that spot.
