I was told by a doctor that is was not contagiuos for the only reason it seems to be is that it depends on how much juice from the plant get on your skin that determines on how fast it breaks out. The more you have in one spot the sooner it will break out. This is why it seems to people that is spreads. Is this true? The only reason I ask is because my mother went for surgery and they told her that they were not worried to touch it because the juice was already absorbed into the skin and was not contagious and if she is wrong I would like to tell her so she is not giving out false information to people because some people are allergic to poison ivy and that would not be helpful information to them.
