Hi, I was exposed to poison oak about a week ago, and it started out small and eventually spread from a small spot on my arms to a full blown rash all over them, in the past few days, it has gone from my arms to my stomach, to my thighs and then my neck and my chest and as of a couple of hours ago to my chin and starting on my face. I'm wondering how it can still be spreading after a week already, shouldn't the oils be gone?! I have been taking showers and using technu soap all over the place. When I went to the doctor he perscribed me some topical creme that doesn't do a thing. And i have bought a few OTC ointments and what not, the only thing that helps is really hot water. But I think that this is causing it to spread!! My doctor said hot water only agrivates it more, but I can't stand the itch and have to give in to a hot shower (its better then sex.) But I can see it spreading so quickly. So I guess my question is, what is causing the spreading, is it when i scratch one spot then touch another? from what I have read this doesn't seem like this is how its spread and only from the oils. But it has been over a week and the oils should be all gone! Why wont it stop?!!?
