This is the kind of post I've been searching for. My daughter has developed an allergy/reaction to poison Ivy over the last 2 years. We used to live in the woods of NC with no reactions for both of us, now in the NJ suberbs she breaks out in blisters and swollen hives everytime she tries to play near nature.

She's 8. I (28), on the other hand have, pulled it out of fences, weed whacked it to bits and pieces all over my leggs and played with my Ive coated dogs, and have never had the slightest reaction.

I'm aware that the possibility is there that I may have a reaction at some point, but for now, I think I'm the buffer between her and the awefull plant that eats her alive. I know now through reading hours worth of postings, that it's impossible to know for sure if I'll never break out from it, but I can count my lucky stars, and be the Ivy-termenator until proven otherwise.
