Sounds like your doing ok Mary. I got PI last year really bad. I have spent my whole life in the woods hiking and camping. I never got a rash from PI until last year cleaning up my back yard. I'm 36. It's amazing it took that long for my skin to start reacting to it.
When I got my PI last year I went to the Dermatologinst. He gave me a shot and some pills for the inflamation. It did not work. After about a week of pulling my hair out and scratching my skin off I found Zanfel. I know it doesn't work for some people but for me it did. After the second application, all the itch was gone and I was healed up after about 5 days.
