I live in NYC, but was in rural Virginia for Thanksgiving. While there, my lip began to break out with tiny blisters - not painful, just dry and itchy, and not really noticable to anyone else. After using Vaseline for a day or 2, it went away, but recurred every several days for 36-48 hrs. I finally went to the doctor, who didn't think it was herpes and said it was more likely oral dermatitis/eczema. This past weekend, the rash came back and seemed worse, so I went back to the doctor. She again said it did not look like herpes and referred me to a dermatologist. I have an appointment in 30 days (earliest possible). This morning, I decided to buy cortisone topical cream and the rash now seems to be going away really quickly. Does this indicate that it probably is a PI rash? And would it recur like this? I'm wondering if I didn't pick it up from playing with my family's dog in VA(she's quite affectionate and spends a lot of time in the woods). Sorry for the long post, but it's been frustrating not getting a straight answer. I'd rather it be a PI rash than some strange subway disease. Any help would be appreciated. |
