The only way that you can get poison ivy is from direct contact with the vine/plant ( i.e. oils). You can't get poison ivy from touching someone who is "weeping". He can't get it from you and you can't get it from him.....only if you both have been in contact with the oil. Make sure that the clothes he has worn or any thing he has had on that was in contact with the oil has been washed.
