My daughter returned yesterday from a Girl Scout retreat. About 3:00 this morning she was complaining that she could not feel her tongue. This morning her tongue looked swollen with red dots. I started to take her to her pediatrician when I remembered we already had an appointment with her thyroid doctor. This doctor looked in her mouth and said she thought my daughter had just ate something that irritated her tongue. Her thoat was not red and she did not have a fever. She recommended we go home and take tylenol. It is now 7:30pm and my daughter is still complaing that her tongue hurts. It still looks swollen. She also is showing signs of maybe having poison ivy on her ankles. Can you get poison ivy on your tongue? Should we get her to her pediatrician or the ER? |
