I do not know if this really works or is a mental thing, but when I was young I grew up on a farm and would get poison ivy often (bad cases of it). My Uncle told me that if I ate the tip of a few of the leaves I would no longer get poison ivy. He proceeded to cut a few leaf tips and we both ate them. I proceeded to do this every spring for a few years and although I have since gotten poison, It has only been once or twice and not seriously (one or two small blisters). I comfortable working around and at times in poison ivy on my property. I think I definatly developed a resistance to the oil. |
