Oh, I feel for you. I get PI every summer. I am just clearing from the largest contained area (about 8"x3") on my arm. I had several other small breakouts that were nothing in comparison. It was so bad, people thought it was a burn from fire. I do not like Predesone. Unforutnately if it is on your face, you must take oral medicine. I have very adverse reactions to it after I have finished it. But if yours is on other areas you can try this. This year the doctor had me soak with Domeboro astringent solution 2 to 3 times per day. I placed a wash cloth on the area for 30 minutes, saturating the area and reapplying during the 30 minutes. Then I placed a steroid ointment - Bethamethasone dip .05% gel 15GM (Mfg. Taro) afterwards and covered it up with non stick steryl pads and then wrapped the pads with an ace bandage. It stopped the itch and took care of the "oozing" between cleaning/soakings. It took a good week, but it worked without drugs in my body. Good luck... I feel your pain.
