Dan,

I'd consider Tecnu to be the closest 'overnight' cure and preventative that I've seen. I do a lot of cave surveying for the Dept. of Natural Resources and I've walked a lot of miles in the Ozark Hills. I haven't gotten more than a couple of small bumps in 4 years, thanks to Tecnu. I used to be a telephone cable splicer. I've climbed polls that have poison ivy all over them. Tecnu saved me. It's kind of expensive ($6 for 4oz), but I'd pay $100 to keep from getting poison ivy. If you use Tecnu to wash within 6-8 hours of exposure, you won't get poison ivy! If you already have PI, break the blisters (i know, i know) in a cold shower, pat your self dry, apply tecnu soap after you are dry, wait 5 min, then cool water rinse. Keep doing this and the PI will be gone in 48 hours.
