I think the Bain person gave an excellent response as it relates to the hot water treatment. I have just suffered from a pretty serious reaction to PI. I got the shot and took predisone (sic) for 6 days. The only thing I'd change in the Bain response is that I'd wait 4-5 days before trying the hot water treatment. I tried hot water in day 1-2 time frame and it spread. I then tried hot water (again not scalding) on my legs after several days and it relieved the itching and it did not spread.
I even know of a dermatologist who treated his daughter's outbreak on the face with hot water. But I'm not so sure I'd be so daring on the face.
For me its been 2 1/2 weeks and the itching is finally going away. Take lots of baths and showers. By the way jewelweed soap was a godsend. Good luck
