Wow, I'd say, much as you love them, dump them! I read somewhere in
this site that leather DOES retain oils, and therefore, you are risking not
only your safety and well-being, but perhaps others, as well. Read on...

I have a lousy case of it now, and I got it from some dear friends from out of state, who spent several nights on my living room rug nearly six months ago. Turns out, the whole family is immune. They go camping a lot, and had the oil all over their sleeping bags. I am currenly suffering my third episode of the stuff, and all because they thought they were "clean". Turns out, only Technu cleaner, when used in the laundry, is really the only way to eliminate the oil from garden or camping gear. And I even steam cleaned my rug with Technu cleaner, so I'm doing my best to figure out this latest invisible source. Right now I have bee pollen paste all over my face, and, by gum, the itching is GONE! This website is such a goldmine...Best wishes!
