All parts of Poison Ivy, even the pollen, are potentially irritating. Watchout!
POLLEN- Tiny dust-like spores of a seed plant that are carried in the air.
OIL-A greasy, unctuous liquid of vegetable, animal, mineral or synthetic origin.
So, no, oil cannot 'wander' in the air. You probably came in contact with it some other way. Lets say it's on your shoes where you walked near it, when you took off your shoes, you may have came in contact with it. So, there are alot of ways you can get it.
Read up on eradicating the vile weed. Google it. There was alot of info online regarding removal.
