Yes and I have tried it. I have also been told by my DR. to take a warm-hot bath in 1/2 cup of clorox. This did help dry it up, but I still had to get steroid shot and take steroids because I am so highly allergic to it. Zanfel is an expensive otc scrub that is good to use as soon as you realize you've come into contact with PI or PO. Also there is a liquid called Ivy OUt that will help soothe the itch and dry it out.
