| I got poison ivy May 29th, went to the ER and got a steroid shot and perscription for steroids which I hate to take. Yes, they make you bloated and eat everything in sight. I waited tried to wait it out 2 days and started to swell so I took them. If you've made it 2 weeks and you are not swollen, breaking out anymore, and really itchy, I might try to not take them. Try taking a warm-hot bath with 1/2 cup of clorox (same as a chlorine pool, my DR. says.) And if you are not going out dab clorox on cotton balls and rub down the poison ivy spots. It will help them dry out faster. There is also a stronger persription drug called Atarax which I always have to take because Benedryl doesn't touch the awful itch I have. Good Luck |
