It's my belief that the liquid in the bubbles is contagious. If you sctatch, and get that juice on clear skin, you'll probably get blisters there too. Be clean about your scratching, and don't use your fingernails, (the liquid gets under the nail and you spread it the next time you touch yourself.) I usually put a sock over my hand and scratch when I have to. I wash all fabrics associated with poison ivy in Dawn for dishes, it gets the oils out for me.
