Hot showers are great. I read somewhere that you should run it as hot as you can to deplete the histimine from your cells and that you will be relieved from itching for at least 8 hours.

I tried it the last two days and nights after I was getting up twice at night to ice down my itches with ice cubes (which would help for awhile).

I would focus the hot water on each sknin area of the infection. You will be able to tell when you have it right as it will really itch while you run the hot water. Today when I ran the hot water I finally depleted the itching (histimine?).

After that I apply the topical cortisteroid clorbasol as directed. I have not had any itching since I started this routine. I go the entire day or night itch free. Secondly, I have found this seeems to dry the blisters out and in the areas infected with the ivy the redness seems to be recedeing.

I have used something simiar to fingernail polish on the new blisters (it was developed for chigger bites), which immediately stops any itching. But besure to peel it off before you take your hot shower.

Good luck
