| I got what we believe to be poison ivy last fall and even after taking methylprednisolone for 5 days the rash did not go away. I actually had the bumps from the reaction for what ended up being 3 months... That seemed like a really long time to me, so I discussed it with a physician and he said the bumps won't go away until you shed the layers of skin the bumps are located in. As far as your scars, I'm actually a pharmacy intern and have never heard of Caladryl Clear causing brown stains (my supervising pharmacist never has either) so I wouldn't be concerned about that. The scars will probably leave in the next few months. (It's been 7 months for me now and you can't tell I ever had it) My best advice is to wait it out until that skin sheds off; the brown spots/bumps/etc. should be gone then. Maybe try a mild scrub to exfoliate off the dead skin layers (but stop if you find it's irritating the skin or making you itch again). Hope that helps! |
