YES! In the 1980's I received an 3 injection over a 3 weeks duration in the early spring. I am told that serum is not available to the docs any longer. But, I know of a dr. who doses himself, his wife and his children with something which is available though not appreciated by most docs (his nurse stated to me that he and his family remai immuned to PO, PI, PS all season - and then re-treat the following year). My doc (who is in the same practice as the previous mentioned) WILL NOT administer it to his patients. AHG!!!
After taking 3 rounds of steroids already this year and currently having yet another outbreak I WILL demand my doc prescribe the medication for me next season or I will be forced to visit his colleague.
I have read that an immuning medication is available to forest rangers, fireman, etc. - but not to the general public. WHY? (I suspect it may have to do with the almighty $$$)
