Nonsense!

There is NO poison Ivy, Oak or Sumac anywhere in Europe!
(OK, Except exotic bitanical garden).

That's nice on hiking in Europe, all you have to watch for is rain, pick pockets, ticks and wild boars. But wild boars are very shy, hard to spot and will avoid you unless cornered.

Oh, yes, and don't sit on an ant hill.

I also heard that Austria still keeps two bears somewhere in the alps.

When I camoe no North America, I was surprised how adventurous wilderness hiking can be. Bears north, aligators south and rattle snake and poison Ivy all over it.
