| Every year, for the past 6 or 7 years I begin getting my mysterious outbreaks of poison ivy on various spots of my body at the end of the winter season. I have had no contact with any leaves (ususally there is still snow on the ground and no PI plants to be seen). The outbreaks are not very bad and they do not itch. They come about once a month, and they seem to appear on opposite sides of my body/limbs in the exact same areas. For instance- if I get some blisters on my right hand above my middle finger then it will be on the left hand above my middle finger. It seems kind of weird, but it's true! I have thought for some time that the PI is in my blood and will be with me for the rest of my life. To my knowledge I have never inhaled smoke from burning PI or ingested it at any time, but I have always been allergic when I come into contact with the plants. |
