| About 3 weeks ago I was clearing out a fence line and I came across some poison oak which broke out on my forearms a couple of days later. It then showed up on my sides and knee. I tried cold baths, hot showers, oatmeal, hydrocortisone, calamine lotion, and benedryll pills for about a week only to get worse. Then on the Saturday before easter my side began to swell and it felt hot. So I went to the emergency room and they did a blood test on me and gave me a prescription for prednisone and hydroxyzine. By about the 5th day of the prednisone I was feeling good I barely itched and the rash was almost gone. But yesterday the itching began to increase and the rash started coming back. I am done with my prednisone and am still taking the hydroxyzine. I called to get an appt. to see an alergy specialist and was given an appt. for May 5th. What should I do? Also when I go to the doctor is there anything I should ask?I am willing to do pretty much anything. |
