Poison Ivy taking over Boston Ivy

I have Boston Ivy growing on my chimney. I've noticed three-leaf configurations on some of the vines and as far as I can tell, it is poison ivy. Here is what is surprising. On the same vine, I see both Poison Ivy leaves and Boston Ivy leaves. What is going on? Thanks,
