| Does prednizone cure poison ivy rash? No. Steroids have an anti-inflamatory action. That is they help to short circuit your body's reaction to the poison ivy.IE the redness, itching, blistering. Cortaid has steroids in it. Smaller amounts get into your system than with the pills or shots. IT works fine for a small reaction but if you have a larger one it probably won't be enough steroid to do much good. If you are looking for Non-steroidal intervention then Jewel weed is supposed to be great for poison ivy. I haven't personally tried it but it has a long history of being effective with no nasty side effects. I think it is also called Touch me not.. |
