My bf was on the prednisone pill-pack and it didn't help him at all. He's a stubborn person, though, and didn't want to go back to the dr. to see what was next. He just kept using Cortaid and dealt with it. He would itch at night, though, while "trying" to get some sleep and itched himself into a (literally) bloody mess. I think if he had listened to me and went back to the dr. he probably would have given him more prednisone and he would have maybe had relief quicker. But that's stubborn men for you.
I now have the pi, thanks to him. I never go into the woods or garden (don't have any by house) but he is a landscaper (inevitable job with pi results).
I'm still trying to believe that pi doesn't spread. I've read on other sites that it just takes certain parts of your body different time frames to react. It's funny, though, that he started to have his reaction over 2 weeks ago and I just had a reaction 3 days ago. One funny little plant. I'm thinking maybe when I did his laundry when he came home or maybe laying on the couch after he had already laid on it after reading John's story.
There's no worse place to have it, I don't think, than right where your waistline is. I've been wearing all my low-rise jeans and pants so they don't rub. Plus I have it on one thigh and in crease of my leg (yeah, underwear feel real good right about now).
Just wanted to throw in a little humor for those of you with a real itch on your skin. This stinks! |
