okay now it's my turn. I also went to the doctor and he prescribed right away the steroid Predisone on Monday Aug. 25th.
I did not get it from the pharmacy as I resist taking drugs without having some knowledge of them. However he recommended taking 10mg. 5 pills the first and second days then 4 the next two days and then 3 for two days and then 2 for two days and then 1 for two days and then 1/2 for two days. telling me that once you start you must finish or there could be serious side effects.
also explaining that you must slowly get off the drug which is why he said take one less per day. All week I did as much research as I could and spoke to as many people as I could.
the poison ivy kept spreading and getting worse. It had not spread yet to my face and genitals but getting close. I read on the internet that doctors ususually recommend the steroid if it reaches the mouth. Anyway by friday August 29th I had enough and saw a local pharmacist in Woodstock, NY who was very sympathetic and went over the pros and cons and decided to at least get the drug. Went to my car and said what the hell I've tried everything
here goes and took the 5 pills. Tomorrow will take 2. Is it working who knows but today Sept. 1 I feel like a free man.
I am basically into holistic healing and will be trying other stuff like Vit. E and aloe plant to try and clear up the ugly looing skin. Anyway I feel like I've been in hell and have been on the internet every night trying to learn. Also been taking Echinacea and Goldenseal capsules 3 at a time for immune support.
Who knows if any of this works.
