My "quest to knock a drug that can help many people"? Huh!?! If your intent was to hurt my feelings, then rest in the knowledge that 1) you have succeeded and 2) this WILL be my last post.
If Prednisone works for you, B.P., then go for it! But where ARE the clinical studies to demonstrate its efficacy for "garden variety" cases of urushiol poisoning? Anecdotes are not proofs. I, personally, don't KNOW that there are NOT such clinical studies. It's just that no one (on this Forum, at least) seems to know where to find them.
The solution to MY "pain and suffering" was: time. Poison oak seldom kills anyone. My symptoms came and went within a month and I understand that's fairly typical...with or without treatment.
