My first bout with Poision Ivy, I was given a wonderul cream called "Clobetasol" and Prednisose Pills. No lie - my rash was much better the next day, and almost completely gone by the 3rd day.
Now....fast forward...I got another batch of Poision Ivy...amazing - I've had it 3 times in my life, yet twice in past 6 weeks.
Went to Doctor yesterday for more Prednisoe and Clobetasol (they can't refill/prescribe steroids over the phone). This rash is much worse than last time - the rash on my shoulders and arms/legs don't bother me as much as the rash on my fingers....thats the part I hate. Last time, betwwen EVERY finger I had the rash. So far, its just between 2 fingers, but I can already feel it coming on in the others. After one day of cream and my first 2 does of Prednisose, I woke up much better - all rash is there, but itching has almost come to a stop - now, this afternoon, the redness is starting to go away. I think, like the first time, I will wake up with almost no rash, and the next day it should be gone. Hooray for Prednisone/Clobetasol combo. get it....you won't be disappointed!
By the way, I noticed that applying Clobetasol immediately after the rash first appears does wonders.... |
