Hi Terri -

Provided you took care of the rash, things should start to heal nicely but may take some time. My husband had red marks on his arms after a VERY severe outbreak that stayed for a year or two. I've found that most of the patches are clear in a month or two after the rash is gone. Of course, this varies from person to person and depends on factors such as how well the rash was kept clean. I personally use Vitamin E oil on the patches to help promote healing.
