I have poison ivy on my ankle area about 4 blisters and a couple more potential ones. It's not terrible, but itching like mad at night/morning. I had a very severe case years ago that lasted for months and was on steroids for at least 6 weeks, I have scars from it and the skin took years to heal properly.( It may have been posion oak not poision ivy, the blisters were enormous. Since then I've had it only mildly. I forgot to use technu this time after a potential contact and didn't react to it until 2-3 days later. I think I may have to throw out the sandals I was wearing too now.
I'm afraid that I will scratch and it will become more severe, but I don't want to upset my stomach with oral pred.
Will a shot be as effective?
Someone mentioned NAET treatment on a post, but I couldn't find out what it is, does anyone know? I also have been using retin a gel on it as this helped me the last time I had a minor exposure and actually stopped the rash from getting bad. |
