| Last month I had PI after being in an old abandoned field. It was my first time having it and now I'm paranoid about it even though I am trying to educate myself on how to ID the stuff. I am doing a lot of work in a forest this summer here in southern Ontario Canada and there is a plant that looks a lot like PI all over but it is in the middle of the forest - not near the edge (although there is definitely some at the edges). The plant in question kind of looks like wild blackberry. It has the three leaves with some serrated looking leaves but the stalks are not woody and they don't have thorns or hairs on them. The plant seems to just have one single stalk coming up directly from the ground and has the three leaves. Some plants are about 1 foot in height while others are smaller. The leaves don't look quite as glossy as PI but I read that PI has so much variation I can't tell by looking at it. The plants don't seem to be spreading or creeping across the forest floor like PI but they are very abundant. And they don't have any flowers or berries yet either but I don't know when they flower in this region. Anyway, I will take some pics and post them here next week but in the meatime if anyone can provide any info that would be great. Thanks. |
