I'm unaware of any preventative shots available on the market today. There were a number of treatments available until about 1993 when they were pulled by the FDA. You might consider calling your doctor to find out exactly what you were given. If you do, please post here as I'd like to find out more. If all you received was a steroid shot - then you'll be able to enjoy the itch of the season again. Having a loving pet does make it that much harder. The first summer we had our dog, I must have had 8 or 9 rashes during the summer. I've gotten better about keeping him clean before he gets his hugs. |
