I have a rash on my left hand that is particularly swollen, red, scabby and crusty (ugh!). This is just one of a number of sites on my body where I have poison ivy rash but definitely the worst. It actually hurts (sort of burns). Could this be impetigo? Somewhere I read that it is possible to get impetigo from scratching poison ivy too much. By the way, I am using Zanfel and although it definitely temporarily relieves the itching, it in no way has eliminated the rashes. I am also taking Prednistone.
