Hi Faith -
The rash should take about 10 to 14 days to run its course. You might consider some of the other remedies listed in the treatment section. One that has worked well with my husband has been to use baking soda. He makes a paste and applies it to the rash. This seems to help. If you go the steroid route, realize that this will "short circuit" your immune system but may not do much to help with the healing at this point. Steroids from what I've read work best when used early on either before or soon after seeing a rash. I'm not a doctor but my statements are based on documents I've read from various professionals. The Academy of Dermatologists does recommend seeing a doctor if you have an outbreak on your face - you might consider this if you are concerned about the rash.
As for the other part of your post, a washing down with soap and water should take care of your gloves. The clothes you can just toss (carefully!) into the washer and use a good detergent. |
