Great site. My greatest sadness is that I have to be looking at it.
I have poison ivy on both legs and both arms, the arms are not too
bad but the right leg is a mess with huge constantly bursting
blisters. The fluid is running down my leg to my foot. It's sounds
disgusting just to write about it. I Itch all over, including my
torso, so I feel that somehow it cruises around in the blood
stream. I tried the very hot shower, but there was an explosion of
activity immediatly afterwards, so I do not advise doing that. I
tried benadryl gel and Band Aid Calamine spray, They helped the
itch but the rash got worse. I then used IvyStat. It's a 2 part
product. The first part is an exfoliant scrub to remove any
remaining poison. I think I was too late. If I had done earlier it
may well have made a huge difference. I did it after 3 days. I
should have done it the next day or sooner. The second part is
called Ivycool. It's a Hydrocortisone gel. It stopped the itching
enough for me to sleep, but I am still ooozing away. This morning I
decided to try "Berts Beeswax Poison Ivy Soap'. I used a small bowl
of water and dipped the soap bar into it, then rubbed the soap bar
onto the skin. The idea is to get a thickish layer of caked soap to
cover the rash and blisters. I then have to leave it on and
hopefully it will dry up the blisters and rash. I live in hope. I
would like to thank the people who submitted photos, I don't feel
so panicked now
