| I am very allergic to poison ivy. I can get it from touching it or pets or clothing that has come in contact with poison ivy. If I know that I have come in contact with it I rub exposed skin with alcohol and take a hot shower and wash the clothes I have been wearing. Sometimes I still break out with a rash usually while taking a shower the next day or so. The rash is not noticable the first couple of days but when the hot shower contacts the area I start to itch. I continue the hot shower on that area and rub with a washcloth. Afterwards I dry off and coat the area with Tropicort(desoximetasone) ,25% rub in gently. One treatment usually works and all itiching stops. |
