This spring I brushed against a weed in central Texas and
immediately had severe stinging on my leg. This developed into
several patches of whelps that were as large as 4 x 4 inches. I
have a history of alleries but have seen this plant all my life and
never heard of anyone having a problem with it. The weed is 20 to
30 inches tall, has a large leaf that looks a lot like a maple leaf
and has a hairy stem. I recently saw the same plant in Colorado at
7800ft. What the heck is it? Jerry Massengale
