I've had one severe case of posion ivy, and yes, it was systemic. I did go to the doctor for steriods and they were absolutely no help. The ONLY thing I could do for relief was use Zanfel. I was going through almost a tube a day for several weeks. At the time, Zanfel sold in this area for $40 a tube. I would have paid whatever they wanted at the time. The rash covered the majority of my body. I had to shower with Zanfel several times a day. Now I always have a tube on hand.
