| Hey, I'm glad I found this forum. I recently came back from a camping trip. Everything was fine when I came home late night but when I looked at myself in the mirror the next morning I was horrified. My eyes swelled up and my forehead was bumpy and red. I waited a whole 24 hrs thinking the swelling would disappear but the next morning I could not open my eyes without holding them up with my hands. My swelling got very bad as my eyes looked like 2 balloons. I checked myself into ER and they got my Benadryl and steroids which calmed the redness. Anyway, the doctors couldn't figure out where I had contracted the allergy since I ate many foods, and was exposed to gun powder and other plants in the woods. Anyway, waking up this morning my eyes are not as swollen but it turns out I not only got some kind of allergic reaction but also contracted poison ivy which is making me very very itchy on my face and left arm. So now I have two things to worry about and my doctor told me to stop taking what the hospital prescribed and start using Medrol (?) and a cream. This is terrible! |
