Actually, poison ivy plants do flower and produce quite lovely whitish colored drupes (fruit containing seed). Here is an earlier post of mine about propagation:

Depending on distance it could be that you left plant root in the ground and it spread out as a vine. Or it could be that the local wildlife left you little "presents" of poison ivy seed. Apparently, the drupes are tasty to a number of birds and small animals.
This is a resilient plant that seems to enjoy popping up where we least want it. |
