I have not inhaled it either, but I had two different cases that were similar to yours - rash everywhere and getting worse after the treatment. The rebound rash Bestsy mention is really true.

This year I got it again, but I immediately started taking 2 400 mg. of Quercetin, two pills of grape seed extract, and two 500 mg. of vitamin C and take these six pills three times a day -- all found at your local health food store. The rash hasn't spread as it usually does and doesn't itch much at all. For me, too, I would get hives, but discovered that hot water treatments were doing that. Of course, I follow the other advice - wash sheets, towels and clothing; take frequent showers, and I put a topical cream on it too. Before, I have not been able to work either - or go out in public much; this year, while I hate having it, it is just an inconvenience.

Hope that helps.
