About 36-48 hours after a wonderful camping trip last weekend, I started to break out in small patches in unusual places on my body. I am very careful about what I touch and where I walk because of poison ivy, and the patches were in places that I KNOW I could not have contacted the plant. My only thought is that the overzealous wood-gatherers inadvertantly brought back some wood with the oil or plant still on it. It was a lovely campfire--but not worth this!
Since I've had it systemically before, I went to the doctor first thing yesterday morning--for me, prednisone is better than the alternative prolonged hell of new patches and itches. I started the pills last evening when I got home.
My question is this: although there are not any patches of blisters on the skin around my eyes, my eyeballs themselves are itching and burning, and my eyes are watery, but it is slightly thicker than tears but not the same as like when you get pink eye.
Could this be poison ivy? Or, could the eye thing be a reaction to the Prednisone?
Thanks for any advice! |
