Yup - fact. Burning poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac (or any plant which contains urushiol oil) will cause the oil to become "airborne". This is a major problem for firefighters particularly in the west who have to deal with forest fires. This form of contact is particularly nasty as you are breathing in the oil.
But just walking through the woods, a field, etc. - no it is not floating out there for you to breath. |
