Hi Michelle -
certainly does sound like you have a nightmare. I don't know if its true elsewhere but I've noticed far more poison ivy here (I'm in the Mid-Atlantic region) than any other year since I learned how to identify the plant.
As for the cats - yup a definite scenario that your little buddies could be bringing it in. Adds new meaning to "look what the cat drug in". You'll need to clean your cats after every time they are out and in poison ivy plants. I haven't tried to wash a cat in 30 years but I do remember it is a nightmare. Sorry I don't have any good recommendations for you other than trying to keep the little guys indoors.
I'll have to leave the vine identification to someone else. You could take pictures and use the upload form so that others can see what you have. I'll give it a shot but vines (besides PI of course) are not my forte. |
